Terms and Conditions

Alpha Flooring & Renovation Inc. ("Company," "we," "our," or "us") provides flooring and renovation services subject to the following Terms and Conditions. These Terms apply to all estimates, contracts, services, and communications between Alpha Flooring & Renovation Inc. and the client ("Client," "you").

By approving an estimate, signing a contract, or allowing work to proceed, you agree to these Terms and Conditions.

1. Estimates and Pricing

  • All estimates are based on information available at the time of inspection and are valid for 30 days unless stated otherwise.

  • Estimates are subject to change if hidden conditions are discovered (including but not limited to subfloor damage, moisture issues, structural deficiencies, mold, asbestos, or plumbing/electrical issues).

  • Any additional work outside the original scope will require written approval and may result in additional charges.

2. Deposits and Payments

  • A deposit may be required prior to scheduling or commencing work.

  • Final payment is due immediately upon substantial completion of the project unless otherwise agreed in writing.

  • Accepted payment methods may include cash, e-transfer, cheque, or other approved methods.

  • Late payments may be subject to interest or collection costs as permitted by law.

3. Scheduling and Delays

  • Project start dates are estimates and may change due to material availability, weather, site conditions, client delays, or circumstances beyond our control.

  • We are not responsible for delays caused by suppliers, manufacturers, inspections, or third-party contractors.

  • The Client agrees to provide reasonable access to the property during scheduled work hours.

4. Client Responsibilities

The Client agrees to:

  • Ensure the work area is clear of personal belongings and furniture unless otherwise agreed

  • Provide access to utilities such as electricity, water, and washroom facilities when required

  • Disclose any known site conditions, including moisture issues, previous damage, or hazardous materials

  • Secure pets and ensure a safe working environment

Additional charges may apply if site conditions prevent efficient work.

5. Materials and Product Selection

  • Natural materials such as wood, tile, and stone may vary in color, grain, texture, and appearance. Such variations are not considered defects.

  • The Client is responsible for approving samples prior to installation.

  • Extra materials (attic stock) remain the property of the Client unless otherwise stated.

6. Workmanship and Warranty

  • We warrant our workmanship for a period of one (1) year from the date of completion, unless otherwise stated in writing.

  • Manufacturer warranties apply to materials and products and are separate from workmanship warranties.

  • Warranty does not cover damage caused by misuse, neglect, moisture, structural movement, improper maintenance, or work performed by others.

7. Changes, Cancellations, and Termination

  • Any changes to the scope of work must be approved in writing.

  • Deposits are non-refundable once materials have been ordered or work has commenced.

  • If the Client cancels the project, the Client is responsible for costs incurred up to the date of cancellation.

8. Property Condition and Damage

  • We take reasonable care to protect the Client’s property; however, renovation work may involve dust, noise, vibrations, and minor disturbances.

  • We are not responsible for pre-existing conditions, concealed defects, or damage resulting from normal renovation risks.

9. Safety and Site Conditions

  • We reserve the right to stop work if unsafe conditions exist.

  • Any hazardous materials discovered (e.g., asbestos or mold) will require specialized remediation at additional cost.

10. Photography and Marketing

  • We may take photographs or videos of the work for documentation, warranty, or marketing purposes.

  • Client identity and personal information will not be disclosed without consent.

11. Limitation of Liability

  • To the maximum extent permitted by law, Alpha Flooring & Renovation Inc. shall not be liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages.

  • Our total liability shall not exceed the value of the contract.

12. Governing Law

  • These Terms and Conditions shall be governed by and interpreted in accordance with the laws of the Province of Ontario and the laws of Canada applicable therein.

13. Severability

  • If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.

14. Entire Agreement

  • These Terms and Conditions, together with the approved estimate or contract, constitute the entire agreement between the parties.
